WILLIAMSON CO.—Liz Lively is the Democrat candidate running for Williamson County Clerk.
Lively says her reason for wanting to be elected is to be able to serve Williamson County in a different capacity than her current position as the Executive Director of the Herrin Chamber of Commerce. Liz believes she can do a better job of saving taxpayers money and improving customer service. She says she has the experience and energy to get the job done.
She started working for Girl Scouts of America where, in addition to mentoring the girls, she taught them hard work is something you have to do by leading by example.
Lively also said that working for the chamber has given her the needed experience of overseeing a budget, managing employees and coordinating large events on a tight budget, all facets of the day-to-day operation of serving as a county clerk.
“I’ve saved the chamber money by making more options available online, freeing up staff to work on other projects,” she told Disclosure.
Working well with others and better use of technology has enabled her to do more with less, she explained.
“I want to put my experience and willingness to go the extra mile to work for Williamson County,” she said, noting that as county clerk, she will work hard to save taxpayers money, increase use of technology and improve customer service.
Lively says she wants to give everyone the opportunity to vote and bring back the “passion” in voting, as well as expanding voting locations for small towns such as Crab Orchard for absentee voting.
