FRANKLIN CO., Ill.---Franklin County authorities worked a head-on collision last night in which three have died and one remains hospitalized.
The accident occurred last night (Friday, April 17, 2015) at around 8:20 p.m. when a Chevy Cobalt, being driven by TJay Klamm, 19, of DuQuoin, and a Dodge Grand Caravan being driven by Richard Kiselewski, 75, of Waltonville, struck head-on, this on Illinois Route 148 just north of Sesser.
In Kiselewski's van were his 6-year-old twin granddaughters; they were going out to get ice cream.
One of the little girls, Sierra Hess, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other twin was taken by helicopter to a St. Louis hospital. The girls are from Scheller.
Franklin County Sheriff's Department authorities are still investigating the accident with the assistance of the Franklin County Coroner's office.
