GALLATIN CO.— It has been widely accepted that stupidity has no geographical boundaries, and apparently that includes those who dabble in illicit drugs.

A trio has been charged in Gallatin County after authorities say they were found July 1 to have drugs and needles in their possession.

Screen Shot 2015-07-13 at 3.33.36 PMJerry A. Allen, 36, of Golden Hill Rd., Shawneetown, Lori Christine Rovito, 43, of Upchurch Street, Eldorado, and Tony W. Cullison, 27, also of Eldorado, have all been charged with one count each of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia alleging they had a pipe in their possession with intent to use said smoking device to inhale cannabis; Unlawful Possession of Hypodermic Syringe, adapted for the use of controlled substances; and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis 2.5-10 grams.

Allen faces an additional charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.

Rovito was convicted in Saline County April 27, 2009, of Driving Under the Influence of Drugs for which she was sentenced to court supervision for 12 months and drug treatment.

When she screwed that up exactly one year later, April 27, 2010 she was re-sentenced to probation for another 12 months.

In another Saline County case, she was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections for five years October 19, 2012 after she was found guilty of Theft $300-$10,000.

Rovito currently has a pending case in Saline from March 21 in which she is charged with Unlawful Possession of Meth 15-100 grams and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (prescription medication).

It doesn’t appear, if Ravioli or Rovito or whatever she’s called even bothered to go, that the drug treatment did much good.

Taxpayers should get their money back.

It appears that Mr. Cullison is waiting in the wings for his first drug felony as he also has a pending drug case in Saline County.

His was filed May 13, and alleges four counts including Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (prescription medication), Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving Suspended and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.

Cash bond was set in Allen’s case at $2,500.

No bond information was available for Ms. Raviolo or Mr. C.

Kentucky teen suspect in York theft

A Kentucky teen with no apparent connection with the above-mentioned trio of drug suspects has been charged with Theft, Criminal Damage to Property and Criminal Trespass to Real Property.

According to information filed in the case, on June 5, Charles J. Johnson, 18, of 96 State Road 2835 Morganfield, Ky., damaged windows in order to enter a building belonging to Tim York, located at 163 West Shawnee Ave., Shawneetown, and while there took a mattress and light bulbs, possibly to illuminate his sleepless nights while he situated himself with a better bed, who knows.

Cash bond in the case has been set at $500.
