GALLATIN CO.— This issue’s violence report out of Gallatin County includes child endangerment, OP violation, a woman sentenced for hitting family member and a battered Margenthaler.

Warren A. Cusic, 48, of 6125 Hwy. 1, Junction, has been charged with one count of Endangering the Life or Health of a Child after authorities say on November 26, 2015, he caused a situation that placed a child, under the age of 18, in circumstances that endangered the child’s life or health.

The details of Cusic’s alleged acts were unavailable.

He was also charged with two counts of Disorderly Conduct, one count for acting in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm or disturb Seth W. Stanley and second for allegedly doing the same thing toward Bridget K. Burton.

Cusic was released from police custody later that same day after posting a $150 cash bond.

OP violation

Frequent flyer Tyler R. Patton, 21, of 115 Green Drive, Shawneetown, has been charged with Unlawful Violation of Order of Protection.

The formal charge alleges that on December 27, 2015, Patton made contact with Mercedes Hopson, after being served an OP forbidding such contact on September 16, 2015.

Patton was released from police custody the next day after a $500 cash bond was posted on his behalf by Ruth Ann Patton, of the same Green Drive, Shawneetown address.

Conditions of his release include that Patton have no further contact with Hopson until further order of the court, which was unsuccessful in stopping him a couple of months ago, according to the instant case.

Gets two years for hitting family member

Sondra M. Pizano, 36, of 286 East Roosevelt Ave., Shawneetown, was sentenced to conditional discharge for two years after pleading guilty to Domestic Battery.

On or about January 1, Pizano was taken into custody after striking family member Robert W. Hansbrough, 36, also of 286 East Roosevelt Ave., Shawneetown, on or about his body.

Additionally, Pizano was ordered to pay $1,292 in fines and fees.

She was also ordered to remain away from the 286 East Roosevelt Ave., Shawneetown address she listed as her residence.

But that wasn’t the end of the story.

Hansbrough was charged several days later, Jan. 6, with unlawfully entered upon the property of Danny Russelburg and Crystal Alexander, located at 290 East Roosevelt, Shawneetown.

Hansbrough pleaded guilty Jan. 11 one count of Criminal Trespass to Real Property and was sentenced to conditional discharge for one year, ordered to have no contact with Russelburg and/or Alexander and to pay $972 in fines and fees.

He was also ordered not to be in Gallatin County except to attend court and visit with his probation officer, a common order coming from that particular county, but one that most of the charged individuals can’t seem to bring themselves to do.

Margenthaler battered

Shawn L. Margenthaler, 44, of 11305 John McGuire Ln., Junction, has been charged with Domestic Battery after authorities say on Dec. 29, 2015, he knowingly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with Jennifer Margenthaler when he struck her on or about the body.

Margenthaler was released from police custody January 4, after posting a $250 cash bond.

Conditions of that bond include that he have no contact “whatsoever” with Jennifer Margenthaler and that he remain away from their residence on John McGuire Lane., Junction, until further order of the court.
