SHAWNEETOWN – U.S. Marshals were in Gallatin County over the weekend of January 22-24, in search of a parolee out of Greene County in northern Illinois who was wanted on a warrant out of LaPorte County, Indiana.

How officials were lead to residences in Shawneetown is the only detail that’s missing about the search for Patrick E. Vaughan, an 18-year-old gangsta wannabe who shows a former address of rural Elizabethtown in neighboring Hardin County, and who ran into trouble on New Year’s Eve in upstate Indiana.

Vaughan, on parole out of Graham Correctional in Illinois, was released on the Greene County crime of Burglary on January 5, 2015; his parole on that crime isn’t up until Jan. 5, 2017.

Having spent only fifteen months in Illinois Department of Corrections on the Greene County burglary, Vaughan apparently learned little from his stint and was out and about and unable to keep himself22out of trouble very long.

He ran into it on December 31, 2015, when he was accused of a variety of crimes in LaPorte County, Indiana: Domestic Battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years of age, Strangulation, Auto Theft, and Interference with the Reporting of a Crime.

A warrant was issued out of LaPorte County, with a $755 cash bond attached.

It remained unclear over the weekend whether or not Illinois Department of Corrections had been notified of the trouble their parolee allegedly got involved in.

Disclosure was able to confirm on deadline that homes searched over that weekend belonged to members of the Oldham family. There was no information issued by authorities with whom Disclosure spoke as to why the focus was on that family’s residences.
