SALINE CO. – The man who’s quickly becoming known as the terror of Wasson has been arrested – and bonded out – again after a row with his wife…and neighbors are stating that their concern is that authorities aren’t taking the situation as seriously as they should.
Dan Curry, 43, known in the Wasson area of Saline (between Muddy and Eldorado) as “peg leg” because of the fact that he lost a leg in a motorcycle accident a few years back, was arrested in the late morning of December 21, 2017, after witnesses claim he was throwing bricks at his wife, Tammy.
The two had been arguing all morning according to witnesses, and Tammy, 45, had attempted to get away from him by driving off in a vehicle, but when she did so, she spun gravel all over him and that further enraged him. He is reported at that point to have gotten on his motorcycle and gave chase, but by then, the sheriff’s department had already been called. When the Currys both arrived back at their residence, authorities arrived, too, and took Dan Curry into custody.
This is a different scenario from the previous arrest, which occurred earlier in December…but only after the Missus Curry was arrested after she was alleged to have fired at her hubby with a handgun she legally owned, this on November 30.
She was charged with a Class 4 felony Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.
Upon further investigation, authorities charged Dan with a couple of serious felonies: Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
That early December arrest didn’t keep Curry from acting up, which is what residents of the Wasson area are worried about. And with Illinois’ idiotic new “Bond Reform Act” (see page 1) in play, now, the most unstable and violent individuals will continue to be allowed out of jail with little-to-no cash having to change hands…and people who are in the line of fire of hotheads, meth smokers and heavy drinkers who get belligerent when drunk are likely going to be the victims of such “reform.”
This doesn’t seem to concern the Missus Curry, however. Despite everything she’s claimed he’s done to her over the past couple of years, she keeps taking him back, and makes a big production of it on her social networking pages, including Facebook, where the piece of art used on page 24 originated.
Tammy seems to have been having a lot of stress problems, according to her communication with Facebook in the days following hubby’s late-December arrest. It appears she forgot that she wasn’t wearing any clothing when she posted the photo seen on page 24, right out in the open where everyone could see it, reportedly…and when Disclosure called her on it, suddenly her gripes dried up, as did the photo. But it was too late, and already screencapped.
Family and friends of Tammy Curry state that they hope she’s able to get away from her violent husband before something really bad happens.
Dan Curry was scheduled to make a first appearance on the early December charge on deadline date of this issue, January 8, and on the second December charge on Jan. 29.
Tammy Curry was scheduled to appear on the weapons charge on Jan. 8, as well, promising some possibly courtroom hijinks and probably more Facebook posts…just, hopefully, not nude ones.
