Curry redux: Fourth bond violation this year, still out running around

This photo, taken on West Church Street April 14, shows Dan “Pegleg” Curry being somewhere he wasn’t supposed to be per bond conditions (a bar); however, he was not taken in on a bond violation. He saved that for, once again, being around his wife Tammy – for the fourth time this year – in early May. He remains out on bond, with absolutely nothing meaningful being done with his multitude of cases, as folks in the Wasson area of Saline County are still in fear of what stunt he’s going to pull next.

SALINE CO. – The Wasson area’s biggest pest has been charged again, but it’s still not enough to keep him locked away for any significant period, and that, of course, will lead to more such instances further down the road if the courts don’t step up their game against him.

Dan Curry, 44, known in the Wasson area of the county (between Muddy and Eldorado on U.S. 45) as “Pegleg” after a motorcycle accident in Hardin County several years ago caused one of his legs to have to be amputated, has been terrorizing his Wasson neighbors for several months, and each arrest brings hope that maybe this time will be the last time they have to contend with arguments between him and his wife, Tammy, causing thrown bricks and gunfire, endangering those around their hovel.

In the most recent circumstance, which happened on May 5, Pegleg Curry once again was accused of Violation of Bail Bond, but it’s only a misdemeanor, not a felony.

As had already occurred once before, Curry’s alleged violation stemmed from making contact with the victim in his singular 2018 felony case, his wife Tammy; he caught this year’s felony on February 18 after a violent outburst. Curry was then arrested March 20 when he showed up for a court hearing on the matter with the missus after having been ordered to stay away from her for the pendency of his case, since he (allegedly) keeps beating her up, proving once and for all time that the two absolutely deserve each other, since they are both too vapid for anyone else to endure them.

Thus far since the two have been having problems (which friends and relatives to a person state has to do with meth in some capacity), Curry has been charged with two felonies in 2017 (Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Stolen Firearm, both Class 2 felonies, both on November 30; and Domestic Battery, a Class 4 felony, on December 21) and four misdemeanor cases to go with the 2018 felony (Bond Violation on Feb. 27, March 10, March 20 and May 5, all of them pertaining to being around Tammy Curry.

All of this occurred after Curry took a plea in July 2017 to his September 2015 Aggravated Battery case, which made him a felon. At that time, he was placed on 24 months probation, which isn’t up until July of 2019…but it seems that those in charge of enforcing that probation aren’t interested in doing so, which has prompted a host of questions as to why…because most people under felony probation get their probation revoke and IDOC sentence imposed, even after just one misdemeanor charge, let alone four, as well as two felony counts.

The insanity will continue, as three days after he was arrested on the most recent charge, Curry was bonded out and is set to make a court appearance on the matter June 26…and, like before, he’ll probably have his vapid wife with him.
