HARDIN CO.— A suspected cocaine dealer has been charged with DUI after the officer on scene described her as being ‘jumpy.’

According to information filed in the case, on May 5, 2018, Amanda R. Salin, 36, of Cave-in-Rock, was taken into custody during a traffic stop and charged with Manufacture/Delivery of Cocaine after authorities say she was found to have on her person 1-15 grams of the drug.

On June 4 an additional charge of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol was added to Mrs. Salin’s legal quandaries.

Salin’s criminal history includes an arrest May 29, 2007 during which she was charged with Home Invasion Causing Injury and Aggravated Battery Causing Great Bodily Harm.

She was found guilty of the battery charge on December 4, 2007 and sentenced to probation for 30 months and ordered to pay $3,751.50 in fines and fees.

Amanda Salin was released from police custody May 8 after a $500 cash bond was posted on her behalf by Patricia Burton, of North Canal St., Cave-in-Rock.

Salin’s husband, who bemoaned his wife’s drug use in an order of protection application recently, accusing her of coming at him with everything from mace to a baseball bat and a BB gun, was arrested in Gallatin County June 3 on a drug possession charge of his own (see related story).

Bond information in Mrs. Salin’s latest case was not available.
