HARDIN CO.— An Elizabethtown serial criminal and a fellow disorderly individual have yelled their way into the headlines.

Cody Conkle, 30, of Elizabethtown, has been charged with a single count of Disorderly Conduct after authorities say on August 28 he acted in such an unreasonable manner, in that he yelled at Jerome Combs, alarming Combs and causing a breach of the peace.

Conkle’s criminal history includes a conviction January 8, 2008 for Manufacture/ Delivery of Cannabis for which he was sentenced to probation for 12 months and ordered to pay $1,695 in fines and fees.

And before Conkle could finish the cannabis sentence he was convicted nine months later, on October 14, 2008 of two counts of Theft.

He was sentenced in that case to jail for six months and probation for two years along with $2,270 in fines and fees.

Conkle earned himself a sentence to the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) for three years after an August 30, 2011 conviction for Theft $500-$10,000.

He was also ordered to pay $1,335 in fines and fees.

Conkle was taken into custody January 1, 2013 and charged with Manufacture/ Delivery of Cannabis, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Child Endangerment and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis in a Penal Institution.

Conkle ultimately pleaded guilty, June 28, 2013, to the weed possession and child endangerment charges in return for the remainder of the charges being dismissed and a sentence to IDOC for two years and ordered to pay $507 in fines and fees.

He was convicted of Domestic Battery Causing Bodily Harm December 8, 2015 and sentenced to conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay $317 in fines and fees, of which he has paid nothing.

Conkle was released from police custody later that same day after posting a $150 cash bond.

And it appears Combs wasn’t the only victim of disturbance.

Official records indicate that Combs yelled at Conkle and caused him to be alarmed and provoking a breach of the peace.

Combs also found himself charged with a single count of Disorderly Conduct.

His criminal history includes a conviction June 29, 2007 of Disorderly Conduct for which he was sentenced to court supervision for 90 days and ordered to pay $373 in fines and fees.

A September 12, 2008 conviction for again for Disorderly Conduct resulted in a sentence of conditional discharge for six months and $390 in fines and fees.

A Disorderly Conduct conviction May 11, 2010 earned Combs a sentence of court supervision for 12 months and cost him $450 in fines and fees.

Yet another Disorderly Conduct conviction January 25, 2011 resulted in a sentence of jail for five days, conditional discharge for 12 months and $462 in fines and fees.

A November 26, 2013 conviction earned Combs a sentence of conditional discharge for 12 months and cost him another $707 in fines and fees, of which he still owes $276.

Combs was also released August 28 after posting a $150 cash bond.
