JACKSON CO., (CARBONDALE) Ill. —Just when public officials began questioning the ineptitude of Carbondale police and the county coroner, along comes evidence to prove beyond a doubt that there should be more than just “questioning.”
Monica Zukas, of Monster Radio WGGH‘s RealityCheck in Marion, has conducted an interview with Varughese family attorney Charles Stegmeyer concerning the Harvard-educated, Chicago-area forensic pathologist the family of deceased Southern Illinois University-Carbondale student Pravin Varughese hired, and this pathologist has dropped a bombshell on the investigation into Pravin’s death: the 19-year-old suffered blunt force trauma to the head, something no one in Jackson County has bothered to point out.
Regular readers will know who Pravin is, and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance February 12, the discovery of his body in a wooded area behind Kohl’s and Buffalo Wild Wings in Carbondale a week later, and the gyrations the Carbondale police department (headed by chief Jody O’Guinn), coroner Tom Kupferer and state’s attorney Mike Carr have gone through in order to discredit the Varughese family in their quest for answers to Pravin’s death. Now, listen to Monica’s interview here…and tell us what you think.
